I didn't want to put this book down; everyone should read it. It's amazing what this family went through together, and it shows what any family can survive. This book has made me think back to all of my happy memories of my childhood, growing up with my sisters, the pains that every family goes through, and the love that my parents taught us. I hope that everyone will read this book and remember what family means.
We read this in our book group about 3 years ago. Everybody loved it; what's not to like. I know of a boy as young as 10 who is reading this book now. I wish parents were always able to be truthful to their children about the past. Kids are very perceptive and will suspect and be curious about stuff anyway.
